About Me

Hey there! 👋 I'm Matt, a full-stack software engineer based in the United States with a passion for building tools that bring communities together.

Who Am I

I love building sites and products that people use and can help make people's lives easier. That's why I have a passion for building Discord bots in particular. Most days you'll find me writing in JavaScript or TypeScript, but you'll also find me coding in Go, Python, or C# - whatever gets the job done best.

I've spent years working with Discord bots, which has been a blast. There's something really satisfying about creating tools that help communities run smoothly and creating integrations that help people. I've dabbled in all sorts of spaces though from deploying enterprise solutions in AWS to helping build out scaffolding for Generative AI projects.

I also love open source and you can find everything I do on my GitHub. If I can make it open source, it will be open source. I believe that we can all benefit from more open code.

All of this reflects in my professional experience. Such as:

  • At a nationwide gas station chain where I helped develop and maintain fullstack software leveraging .NET Framework, .NET Core, TypeScript, Vue, and MSSQL that is actively being used in over 1,000 stores nationwide.
  • Working with a professional consulting firm which allowed me to contribute on product development team for one of the biggest agriculture companies in the North American region and then work on a massive undertaking for scaffolding out a Generative AI template to be used at upcoming F500-tier companies looking to implement Generative AI solutions.

Past the Code

My passion doesn't just extend to code but also community management as a whole. I actively help setup and coordinate players for events that are turned into video content. I have been honored to work with content creators in the Overwatch space like Jay3 and Emongg; and through that work I've helped manage we've reached over 60 MILLION views and grew our community to 8,000 members.

I also have a passion for gaming and while helping run one of the largest educational communities for Overwatch I also livestream and do game reviews for players to help them achieve the next ranks and level up their gaming.

Where I Began

I owe it all to my brother! When I was 14 years old me and my brother saw some "mods" for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on YouTube and we wanted to know how to do that. While my brother was fine after jailbreaking his PS3, I began to ask the question "how does this work?" After that, I kept tearing things apart and eventually found a passion for web development.
